Neil Dawson was born in Christchurch in 1948 and educated in Masterton and Hastings. He has a reputation for the conceptual daring and technical virtuosity of his work. Dawson has major public works throughout New Zealand (Ferns in Wellington and Chalice in Christchurch), Australia (Diamonds suspended outside the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra), Asia and Great Britain (Wellsphere in Manchester). He is also an Arts Foundation Laureate.
The Photographic Works
Every two years we commission a new photographic image to be installed on one of our two photographic bill boards. The two images currently hung are works by Anne Noble and Jae Hoon Lee.

Under this program we select an artist to create a temporary work for the sculpture park. Fiona Connor's work is still on display and Dane Mitchell's Stealth Tower will be installed in October.
