Phil Price
Inspired by the work of the American artist George Rickey, particularly his piece in the Gibbs' collection, Phil Price started exploring kinetics in the late 1990s. He did some experimenting with motor-driven forms but his focus has always been wind-activated works.
By 2003 he had designed and built four such works and was keen to continue exploring the potential of kinetics in large-scale sculpture. In 2008, he created the hugely successful Fulcrum exhibition which toured Waiheke, Queenstown and Melbourne.
